One of two Long tailed tits popped past...

I took this pic during the week, as you know they are such flitty little birds they don’t sit still for a minute. So, this pic is the ‘best’ of about a dozen! ☺️

Great shot,K.....we have about 6 or 7 of them dancing infront of the garden mirror making such a noise...they can obviously see their reflections.I do love them.

Thanks Ange! I was so pleased to see this pair - although I think probably just passing through. Haven’t seen them this weekend..

Aw thanks Julia! It is difficult to take a pic of these little things! They are so quick on the move! It must be lovely to have 6 or 7 in the garden - I can only imagine they look adorable dancing in front of the mirror!!!

we regularly get 6-8 of them but like most of you they don't stay still long enough for a decent photo. Thank heaven for digital cameras.

Thanks Paul, it’s the best pic of the lot, you should see the others! Back to front, upside down...they are so quick! 😁

One day in our last (big) garden, OH ran to get me to go up to the hidden rubbishy corner, and there were TEN long-tail chicks in a line on a branch. We were just in time to see them fledge. Memorable moment, but the only pic is in my head!

Oh my favourite small bird Kate and what a fabulous shot. You did well to get it, they're soon off aren't they?
I do get flocks of them down the garden but never manage a pic, well done!

Thank you Janey! Yes, we see them fleetingly. Wish they stayed around a bit longer!

I found out that in some UK areas they were called flying lollipops!

That's very apt Sbg..haha. Those great long stick tails. I wonder why they need such long ones, all to do with balance. Maybe they help to fly straight!
