Asphodeline lutea (Asphodeline lutea (King's Spear))

Coming into flower. The bud looks like a ball but opens as a spike.

Unusual one, Eileen. Look forward to it in full ‘spike’.

You have a nice collection of unusual plants.

yes we do have a lot of plants in common don't we Siris.

Yours will get like this but probably next year Kate.

Due to all the shade I had to source plants and I didn't want just ferns and hostas, hence the more unusual plants.

Thank you, Eileen...that’s reassuring! It’s very attractive and that bit different!

Grew it from seed and have just one left in the garden which threw up a puny flower last year, so am hoping for Great Things this summer. (Not holding my breath!).

What else?

See who else is growing Asphodeline lutea (King's Spear).

See who else has plants in genus Asphodeline.
