American Robin at our foutain

American Robin at our foutain

Turdus migratorius
belongs to the thrush family,
Early colonial settlers named the American Robin for its resemblance to the familiar but unrelated European Robin, which is smaller but also sports an orange breast and upright posture.

lovely bird and as you say a member of the blackbird family. Do they become quite tame near you?

They are friendly birds SBG. I love to see them around even if they eat all my small fruit later in the season.

Lovely capture, Klahanieā€¦I can see the blackbird/thrush resemblance clearly.
