You perked my interest with this question SBG. So, now I know the history of its discovery but not the plant itself.

I thought it was a garden hybrid, but looking it up THANKS TO SBG, no it was discovered in Nepal in 1980s, two clones collected, one with green stems, one with purple stems. Wait a minute going to look at my stems...... WOW, Purple stems. Pic to follow when it stops raining here!
Oh, actually you can see one purple stem in the above pic, but i would call it red!
