mine are now in too much shade I think for flowering now. I will lift them once i know where they are. I have a lot of renovation to do this autumn/winter/spring.

Yes, they need lots of sun when in leaf. But the leaves are such a mess when they are dying off and I can't really cut them off if I want to see the flowers. Leaves are huge. I also have to rethink these. I have inherited tons if them.

They vary in colouration (slightly).... some are almost white and some have more violet tones. Probably depends how much sun and light they get. Thank you for your comment Kate.

They are often called Autumn crocus but there are proper Crocus species that flower in autumn, just to confuse the issue. That's why it is better to call these Colchicums.
