Dahlia aff purpusii

AndrewR

By Andrewr

Dahlia aff purpusii (Dahlia purpusii)

Some species dahlias are hardier than the highly bred ones. This plant has its tubers right on the surface of the soil, so I protected it though last winter with a dry mulch. It started flowering this year on 3rd June and despite two air frosts, shows no sign of stopping any time soon

That's lovely, Andrew. Mine tubers would rot in soil with the amount of rain we are having. I have to lift them regardless of the temperatures.
