Leaves of Fagus Sylvatica tricolor - November

Leaves of Fagus Sylvatica tricolor - November

Tricolour beech .
I thought I killed it in Summer. We had extreme heat and I forgot to water. It lost all the leaves but recovered somewhat later. It is also loved by aphids and our local nursery owner tells me that he stopped selling them for that reason.
I hope It will be OK next year. Such a beautiful tree.

We are flooded at this point so we hardly ever win. Unfortunately.

love the photo but not your weather conditions. Lets hope it will dry soon. Saw on the news that Canada was suffering again.

Thanks SBG. It is quite serious. Highways are closed , towns are flooded, trains derailed, Vancouver port is closed so disrupted supply channels. Stopped raining right now but more is coming.

That sounds horrendous. it has been a very wet year all round I think. I hope there isn't any prospect of water creeping up into your garden?

We are lucky to live on the hill Stera so not so bad. Not raining now. Few pools around. We are sitting on heavy clay so water stays for little bit longer. Our big red western cedars really suffered in summer and fall because of lack of water ......they might be happy.

You’ve captured the leaf colours and shape brilliantly…the dark backdrop of the trunks leads to a lovely effecting sorry to hear of the serious flooding and destruction, Klahanie. It’s just devastating for so many people.
I hope this beech tree continues to thrive and flourish for you.
