We trimmed our large Purple leaf ornamental plum (severely) and couple days ago I noticed few branches on the ground so I picked them up and forced them to bloom. It worked. They were laying in the grass (read weeds) for at least a week.

Thank you for commenting Janey, Sheila, Anget, and Sbg.
Sheila, I hope you will succeed in forcing to bloom yours.
I have several branches and only one did not bud. It was bigger and thicker than others. I suspect that these blooms will not last long but only time will tell. It is an experiment. I used to do that in early spring but never tried in a fall.

Interestingly it not only blooms but pushing out the reddish leaves as well, Meadowland. I wonder for how long a glass of water can support all that energy.

Thank you.
The flower petals are gone now but the leaves are still persisting. Flowers lasted about 10 days. It was nice to see them. I will do more closer to spring.
