Euphorbia millii - Crown-Of-Thorns

Euphorbia millii - Crown-Of-Thorns

My crown-of-thorns plant is in full bracts now. It’s an extremely common shrub here, which is always in bloom. It’s available in orange, pink, red, and variegated shades of these colors. Photo taken February 24, 2022.

Very prickly plant but interesting.

It’s very thorny, but it’s so widely planted for the colorful bracts an extreme drought tolerance.

I always admired it. I wish I could grow it here to deter our deer. :-). Do you grow it in a pot? It has such vivid red colour.

This one is my back yard in a pot. Many are grown in the ground here. They stay fairly low 4 or 5 ft
