The Crown Imperial (Fritillaria imperialis)

Grew them for the first time this year...haven't smelled them yet.

I grew these when I had the garden down the road, the flowers are lovely, but as you say they smell awful.....

Didnt know they had a pong, but ive never got close enough to have a sniff, too near a Rose shrub.

smell a bit like a dog fox but worth it for the pretty flower.

Very attractive flower, Klahanie. Gorgeous colour too. Pity its not fragrant, but, it's still lovely to see.

Thank you for you notes SBG and Kate. They are very attractive and exotic looking plants and I probably will buy few more.
Maybe that is a good thing that they stink as critters around here will not eat them.
