We can only grow these as annuals here in balmy Berkshire. Our weather is too hot and dry for them

Lovely - gone to my favourites.

They like a cool summer, damp air and dappled shade. They prefer acidic soil as well I think. They are not easy unless you have the right conditions. That’s why they are so popular in Scotland. :)
