For some reason I cannot grow Penstemons. Our winters are not very cold so it has to be amount of water we are getting. I like the one in your picture Anget.

Lovely. I think I might have cut mine back too enthusiastically … no sign this year 🙁. Luckily I have a Salvia in the same spot and the same colour!

Your Garnet certainly has a profusion of lovely vibrant flowers.

Thanks, all. If having difficulties keeping them, I'd certainly recommend this one. I take cuttings so have a fair number in the garden, both front and back. They root very easily so are easy to retain from year to year (if you can be bothered with taking cuttings). Some of mine are 5 years old. And the soft colouring seems to go with everything.

You’re so right Ange. And I’ve given away so many cuttings of this that there’s every chance that I might get a cutting back!

Lovely plant. Penstemon's are really a good buy.

There are a couple I have lost, Linda, but mostly they enjoy my garden!
