Robin

Robin

This Robin landed next to us while we were having coffee outdoors at a garden centre this morning. Such friendly little birds!

Don't they give you a cheer,Shirley....or perhaps he was hoping for some crumbs!

Julia, he hopped around under each and every table, got lucky with some crumbs ... :o)

How lovely. I love Robins and they get so friendly. We have a male blackbird who hops around our feet in the garden.

Anget, twice last week we had a young Bluetit fly into the patio doors ... hopefully it's fine!

Lindak, it's lovely how trusting some birds become ... :o)

We have a resident Robin, who is quite tame too.Such a lovely little chap:o) He has got used to the feeders ,and doesn't bother about his companions ,blue tits,Great tits, Gold finches, etc so he shares quite happily .:o)

Thanks Josie ... I always think their little legs are too thin to bear their weight!

Sandra, we have been watching the different birds coming to the feeders. All of them seem to like the sunflower hearts ... costs us a fortune!!

It's heartbreaking when they do that, Shirley. Years ago we had 2 juvenile thrushes kill themselves on the same day on our front door glass. Couldn't believe it, so sad.

I know what you mean,Shirley, but at least they get eaten..We also get the fat balls with sunflower seeds in,and they don't last long either..R and his friend bought some from the Outdoor market last Saturday, where they go most weeks, and the guy said they could have the bagful for £ 2... erm, gullible comes to mind ?? Hardly been touched, but I'm keeping out of it.. Lo.l. x

A garden centre we often go to has a resident Blackbird which has built a nest inside one of the plant tunnels next to the cafe.
There's also a cheeky Robin which sits watching the tables and as soon as they're vacated he's straight down.

Isn’t there anything one can put onto glass that will stop birds from crashing into it like this? I would hate to have happen, perhaps net curtains would do the trick, even though you might not like them. I was at a birthday party with my boys years ago & one of the visiting little boys ran at speed straight through a big glass window. Of course he didn’t know it was there & they should have put tape or something across it, kids always get exited & tear about. A trip to hospital followed. I didn’t get any follow up.

Anget, I like to think t is still alive as I saw a young Bluetit trying to land on the feeding station today, wings flapping like crazy! So cute .....

Sandra, I would keep out of it too ... :o)

Julia, you've gotta love the birds and their antics!

Josie, there are many 'stick-on' colourful transfers that can be put on glass doors. We used to have a row of Penguins on a patio door in a previous house ... just made folk aware of the door.

I love the robins Shirley, but ours just seems to pop in now and again! Sometimes has a bath and feed and then goes!

Ha, ha, Rose, it is probably doing the rounds of all the local gardens ...

Lovely aren’t they! They do frequent the GC’s don’t they.
The GC often has food/seed out for them. So friendly…the robins I should add! ☺️
