Acer shirasawanum 'Jordan' (Full Moon Maple)

Acer shirasawanum 'Jordan' (Full Moon Maple)

Neon yellow leaves in early spring. Fast growing.
Websites will say it takes full sun but not the case here.
Leaves burn in full sun.

Thank you for showing this Klahanie..if you remember I have a tiny 'Jordan' Acer and Janey too...Looking at the size of yours I will definitely be keeping it in a container. The Spring colour leaves are striking.

Julia. I do like it for the spring colour more than fall colour.
Ange has one as well (in container). It is definitely not a "dwarf" size in the ground.
"Jordan" grows much faster than Aureum Julia, That is one I think you said you have. Very similar otherwise.

Really lovely Klahanie. I also have a very small shirasawanum ‘Jordan’ … hope it will grow a bit more next year.

Me, too. They are obviously popular! Mine lost all its leaves ages ago! This is an attractive specimen.

I forgot that you have one as well Sheila (old age?). You must post it's picture in spring. I think yours is in a pot, is not it?
-----------------
Ange, I remember your picture from earlier in the year. It looked to me little bigger than your other newly purchased little JMs, am I right?

Thank you both for your comments.

Klahanie, I agree that its colour is better in Spring, but, no, mine is one of the few in the ground.

I will have to look at your garden's areal photos Sheila to see if I can spot it.

Thank you Janey.

I’m not sure if I have ever taken a pic Klahanie … not really worth your time. It’s so small that OH calls it a “stick”!

It is interesting Sheila. I have to trim mine 2x a year. It shoots branches 3'feet long. Hopefully yours will settle in soon and will become a handsome tree. It really shines in spring . My only problem with mine is that the top part burns in hot sun.
