Tomorrow morning the Trachycarpus is being felled...it has become enormous so for safety sake its days will end.

That's sad. I felt the same way when we had our large birch taken down a few months ago.

Thank goodness we took the decision, the tree surgeon has found it is rotten at the top...he has to be extremely careful how far up he goes .

Shame you had to have the tree felled, but sometimes these things have to happen and it looks like you made a good decision.

It does seem so much lighter in the garden.The shrubs underneath will benefit now.
