Well caught. Do you feed them? Our 'regulars' are getting through so much feed at the moment!

No Ange, These do not eat seeds, they tend for themselves.
They like worms (destroying our mossy "lawn") and bugs. I even seen one getting slug.
Maybe yours feeding young ones ?? What do you feed your robins?

The older robins have learned to use the hanging seed feeders, they enjoy the mixed seed. They adore the suet pellets which we put out every morning (and have lots of 'regulars' waiting for) and I soak mealworms which everyone seems to go for. I think all our birds are teaching their young to come and use us as a 'top-up', Klahanie. The soil is rock solid at the moment, so difficult for them to find worms etc. No rain here for what seems like weeks after a very wet spring.

Same here Ange. Very dry after the very vet in April. But it is not unusual for here. We have no rain all summer. It said that we are on the cusp of "Rain Shadow Effect" of Olympic mountains. I have to use hoses to keep plants alive. So far no restriction but it will come later in the month. We have our own water-well but we try to comply with the restrictions.
26 degrees today .....so very warm.
You are such a good "mom" to your birds Ange and we are trying to be as well. I am actually watering portion of the lawn for robins. They are all coming to greet me when I come out :-)

Lovely photo of your Robin. We have just started to see our Robin in the garden again. They seem to go away into the fields in the Spring. I put out suet pellets, sunflower seeds and mealworms, which are their favourite.

Linda, Thank you for your compliment and the info on your robins. Ours do not eat any seeds.
