Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' - autumn colour (Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki')

This one is reckoned to have the best red autumn colour of all the Japanese maples

How come it's still got its leaves on? My Acers are pretty bald now!

I guess it all has to do with location, weather and timing....because of our warm weather, my acer only gives me minimal color then the leaves promptly turn brown...all at once

My garden is very sheltered spritz - railway embankment blocks the south-westerlies and houses all round.
Skippy - good autumn colour is brought on by bright, sunny days and cool nights. I think you have to go to New England to see the best colours

We do suffer when the wind blows - and there's some forecast, too!
