He's been back every day Bonkers. He is pecking around the hole from both inside and outside. I think hes lost the plot, it's about time he got down to the business of mating and bringing up a family rather than spending his time on carpentry around the entrance hole.

IIts ok Toto...last year our pair spent from Feb to April doing exactly the same thing...inside and outside,in and out! Then they decided to nest next door ! You win some you lose some........Bet youre lucky though !

Lucky or not Bonkers. It's fantastic to see them around and I am grateful for that. If they nest, that will be a bonus. The main thing is that nest and bring up a family somewhere.

Exactly Toto..we were just relieved that they nested at all ! They still came over to us for their mealworms,which hope helped as was so weyt most of last summer that the insects just were not around for them !

Like you, I provide mealworms, especiall during the nesting season as that is what the young need so hopefully, even if they don't nest in our box they will return regularly for their sustanance.
