Pachystachys lutea - Golden Candle Plant (Pachystachys lutea - Golden Candle Plant)

These Golden Candle Plants always come back from major snail damage every year...it always has the yellow bracts...however starts to bloom (little white flowers in bracts) from late February through December. Photo taken May 20, 2009.

Very familiar plant - it has started to naturalize over here. I see it popping up along the roadsides and in the bush.

Wow! These plants naturalize there! I've never seen these plants develop seeds pods.

They are commonly sold in every garden center and grow very
well here as an evergreen shrub or sometimes annual.

Oh Yes, I forgot the slugs. They are under all my pots...and of course, in the soil of the plants.

Panther:

They are very easy to grow...they like a lot of water and fertilizer. If you have snails that would be the only problem.
