Its an interesting combination and you wouldn't think it would work, with lavender liking dry sandy soil and ferns liking damp woodsy stuff for preference. They do look very good together don't thy?

Thank you all for your kind comments. I am trying to create more and more areas like this. It just fits best our wooded environment. Although, I do have a place to put some more formal and cultivated plants for more colourful display.
