I love this tree, I have one, it has not flowered yet, it is about 4 feet, I love the flower, has it flowered for you Andrewr?

that is going to be a stunner Andrew, i dont know the 'Aurea' though, but the flowers always remind me of foxgloves in the air.
i have 2 young catalpa trees, about 8 years old which havent flowered yet, last year we had a black kite landing on one of the branches which snapped and it now looks very lopsided.
i had a fully grown one in our old house, she was spectacular, exept for the flies which seem to like the smell and do a lot of the fertilizing ;((
yes leaves like soupplates but only on the older ones.

Michaella - it was only planted two years ago, also I plan to pollard it each year, so it will probably never flower but I'll get some ginormous leaves

Wow mine is still a baby, love it, our daughter has one which is over 7 ft now, but I will pollard ours.
