Thanks all! Most of the Jacarandas have finished blooming already...this was the last of the few still
left on my tree.

Wow, excellent shot of the Jacaranda. I once tried to take a photo of them, but it was too windy and it never turned out.

Alexandramou:

Thanks! It would be nice if it had a scent.

Do Jacarandas grow in Corfu, Greece?

I've never seen them Delonix1. You guys are really lucky over there, you have some gorgeous plants and trees!!!

Alexandramou:

I'm very surprised they don't grow there. It's generally a very good tree to grow in a subtropical climate.

Yes, we're lucky we grow a lot of interesting, tender tropical and subtropical trees here in San Diego.

Delonix1,
I came across seeds for the Jacaranda mimosifolia today....I was surprised really...I think I will give them a try. Am I going to have to wait years and years for a tree or do they grow fast?

Alexandromou:

Jarcaranda is a fast growing tree in the ground...in a pot a little slower. It does take a while before they bloom though...I think 3 or 5 years.
