I do like these. Mine aren't quite ready to flower yet. I get a type of caterpillar on just one bunch of mine which devour almost all the plant but not until its totally stopped flowering so I don't worry about it.

HB it is the sawfly, gave up growing them because of it....it also has the same devastating effect on the gooseberries..

The birds don't seem to pick them off I've noticed. I thought I might grit my teeth and pick them off myself this year. Yuk....

I have the same problem with the Sawfly larvae, although they are much later the last couple of years so less of an issue.
