Repotted the Monkey Plant

Repotted the Monkey Plant (Ruellia makoyana)

This had stopped blooming during the winter and looked spindly. Last year it was cut back for fresh growth, this year, a new pot. Its almost a bush! Expecting lots of blooms this spring.

It certainly doesn't look spindly now, GT :)

Thanks Gee. Usually you wouldn't see the stems at all. With more space it will get fresh and green and put out a good crop of pink tubular flowers. I'm very excited. Its been squeezed for a few years....lol.

It's looking really healthy. I haven't seen a macrame hanger for years.I had a go at making them but gave most of them away and when my spider plant died I lost the hanger too.

Thanks Homebird. I love hangers. I got many from thrift stores because, yes, many have been given away since they aren't in fashion anymore. Any I make aren't quite as nice. I crochet some since its quick and easy. I've started using old plastic grocery bag material to make the string, for recycling. Works pretty well.

What a good idea, I will give that a go.

I just cut the bag into wide strips so they end up circles I can link together to make a string. It makes a great material. Crocheted recycled shopping bags made into new shopping bags are very popular gifts too. I'll take a shot of my hanger today.
