grafting an apple tree!

United Kingdom Gb

hey ye,i was wanting to know can i graft an bramley apple tree this time of the year(september) as an old orchid i know is getting bull dozed to the ground and was wanting to try and save some of it.. i live in northern ireland..any tips and help would be great...many thanks

I'm certainly no expert here Darren. What I would do is google the word Brogdale. This will give you the site for the national fruit collection in Kent. Email them and see what they say.

Yes Biglongdarren, Yes you can. It's a bit late but go for it. Please save as many as possible. Graft three shoots per rootstock. RHS website will give information on how to do it. The more that you try the more chances you will have to get at least one. Sell any spares for your favourite charity.
Good luck and happy gardening.
