I sent for a plum and cherry tree back in May from a well known on-line and postal supply company. They were bare of buds on arrival and avvording to the info had been kept in cold storage, was assured that within 2 or 3 weeks of planting they would come to life. They didn't, both died despite me following the planting instructions. They were replaced, the cherry tree died again and was replaced again, this time with a larger specimen in full leaf, it was the 2nd week oy July by this time. The plum tree, about 4 feet high only sprouted a few leaves here and there. That has remained the same (hopefully the picture has come through ok) It was taken a couple of days ago. Will this tree sprout more leaves come next spring? At the moment the leaves show no signs of turming brown. Is this normal? I would welcome some advice.

Well it does seem a bit odd, although the leaves I can see do look very healthy. Seems odd it hasn't started turning for autumn either, which variety of plum is it supposed to be?
If you don't want to return it to the company, then I suggest you wait till spring and see what happens then.

has the tree been pruned at all, it dose not look like, plenty of time yet I take it that it is a maden tree, you have untill early spring. however, i would give it a feed of genral fertilizer, and let us know what it is like in early spring just as the buds begin to open , we will then maybe able to help you sort it one way or the other.

Do not feed it at this time of year, Pandaman, wait till growing season, spring.
