i have 4 fruit trees in pots this is the 2nd year ,when is best time to take out of pots and put into ground in garden?. They are a cherry/plum/apple /pear.

NOW, or at least befor we start with the frost, may I point out that you need to loosen the soil 24 inches for plum/apple/pear. and 30 inches for cherry. get them in then come back to find out how to prune them, and there cair I and others on hear will be only to happy to help.

Agree they should be planted as soon as possible - as long as the ground isn't frozen, that is.

Now is the time to plant your trees, prepare the ground and give them the right aspect to grow, before the ground get's frozen.

Good luck with that one, Docbob - things we force ourselves to do for grandchildren... if anyone else asked me that, the answer would be a resounding NO.
