The David Austin climbing rose which has been growing on my arch for last 5 years, still has lots of leaves which are covered in black spots. This hasn't happened previously so I'm assuming its because of the wet weather. Is there anything I should be doing now, eg take the leaves off, spray? The only other roses I have in the garden are the 'rugosa' types and they never seem to get black spots.

the black spot is a fungal disease. pick up any leaves from the ground and either burn them or put them in the household bin for the council to take away. you can buy a spray for this condition there is one called Rose clear. I am sure there will be other brands available.
and the wet weather has certainly been the factor for your rose.
