Has anyone grown a plant called Erodium pelargoniflorum please? The person I bought it from said it was hardy, but I've done some research and I don't think it is. I'd welcome your thoughts and experience with it.

Grew it last year from seed...a variety called sweetheart or something like that. It's come through the long, wet, grey and cold winter a treat.

That is a lovely petal.

Andy, thank you! Maybe mine will be fine, then. I thought it was so pretty - I just had to bring it home. You can see why, Linda, can't you. :-))

I had this for 2 years until the very cold 2 winters then I lost it. I'd certainly go for it if I saw it again.

Karen sent me one of these Spritz grown from seed. It has come through a second winter now. Very pretty plant :o)

We lose it every time we have tried it.

maybe it's more to do with sitting in cold, waterlogged soil rather than the cold itself. My soil is chalky loam and drains very well. Checked today and i have pretty much all the plants i put in last year

I'll keep my fingers crossed, then. I'm going to plant it in the shelter of the south-facing wall.

Also I am sure I read that what we have in cultivation is E trifolium, but I may have that the wrong way round.
Either way, my soil is extremely well drained too, but we are very cold.

We're not, in comparison, Ob.

This plant (actually E. trifolium) was just covered in some detail on the new forum of the Geraniaceae Group. It comes from North Africa and is rarely hardy here in Ontario, but borderline in the UK depending on your local conditions.

I kept mine for two years but it has disappeared now, may be best to treat this as an annual with our recent winters :o))

Can I add that mine was in a pot.

I decided to keep mine in a pot, too. It'll go in the greenhouse come the winter.

How do I say thanks?
