my bedding geraniums have gone a little leggy in the greenhouse can I cut the tops off to make them bush

I wouldn't, that is their growing point, just plant them in deeper, they can come out now to harden off that would help them.

Now I probably would Lizzziebee, its early enough yet to pinch out the growing tip, I pruned back some of last years the other day that had overwintered in the greenhouse

Agree with Pamg, I would pinch out as well, Derek.

I would cut of several inches and plant the tops as cuttings if the plants are big enough.

I did that Stera last autumn and am suprised and pleased to have a little pot of flowering cuttings that (magically?) survived the long winter in a cold greenhouse

Excellent! And anyway, trying to use the tops as cuttings you can't lose and might win! I've got a little potful myself nearly ready to pot on.

How do I say thanks?
