Good Morning...I have this lovely Clematis growing over an old water pump, and it looks grand. Its very much admired by friends but when they ask me what it is called I have to say I do not know....but then I thought I bet I know someone who don't let me down.

Clematis And_again

It could be Clematis montana 'Elzabeth'.

No I don't think that's it....Montana Elizabeth is more like the Montana growing over a pergola to the right of the photo,Elizabeth also has a yellow centre. But Thanks for your interest.

Yes I'm sure you are right about that...there are so many Montana... if I have no luck here I will maybe trawl thru them until I find it. Thanks again

Do you know Worthy1 I think you've got it....By George!!
I looked the species up and found this description which fits perfectly.

"Clematis Montana 'Marjorie' has pretty, small, pale cream 4-petalled flowers that open pale green, and mature into cream with rosy pink and red blushes. Stamens are a lime green, with fine inner petals surrounding like a collar"

When you said "Marjorie" it rang a tiny I'm sorted. Thanks again for your interest.
