How suitable is Sarcococca confusa as a pot plant or does it need to be planted in a bed. Rosarii

On plant Sarcococca confusa

Sarcococca confusa is best planted in the ground as the roots like to be kept moist also It grows to about 150cmH x200cm S so you would need a very large pot it's best grown in a shady position. I would say It's not one to be grown in a pot Sorry! hope this info helps :0)

I was going to say the opposite Sue! I have one in a large pot and it is doing really well! Mind you, it is only four years old and perhaps it will outgrow the pot in a couple of years. As it is in a shady spot it doesn't dry out too much.

I guess it depends on which way the garden faces. mine is huge its 2 years old and 2m across. I guess I 'd have to say give it a go, if it doen't work out in a pot stick it in the ground !!! over to you Rosarii

I also grow mine in pots, one either side of the door. If they should start to look sick I'll plant them in the garden. It's worth giving it a go for the scent Rosarii.

I have mine in a pot - only bought last autumn so it's a small plant at the moment. I keep it by the front door and I bought it specifically for a pot by the door to have the scent there.

Thats my plan too, but will keep it by back door - most used heading out on Sat to my local garden centre - Greenbarn only over the road from me they have a good selection of pots. I presume you bought a faifly big pot. Rosarii
