Liquidambar styraciflua????

Local garden center has these trees for sale 3 to 4ft high.

But does anybody know what variety they will be? I thought it was Liquidambar styracilua Worplesdon or what ever?

Sorry what i should say is they are all marked up has "liquidambar styraciflua" ?

Well, without the cultivar name ('Worplesdon', or otherwise) they are most likely to be an un-named seedling. Those are normally excellent trees, but are a little unpredictable as to their growth habit and fall color. You can get a better read on the latter if you wait until color change to buy them.

They need a lot of space.

Definitely need a lot of space, grow to 20 metres and do not like lime.

In my experience, they are pretty slow growing, but that may just be in my climate, where they are pretty marginal.
