Hi, new on here.

Can anyone identify for me what this plant is called? I've had it for about 4 years when it started off as a single stem and I recently took six cuttings from it and they seem to have successfully rooted in small pots.
I'm not sure what to do with them, will they grow in a shaded area?

Cerastium tomentosum - "Snow in Summer". Useful when little else will grow on a poor soil. A bit untidy but, as you now know, easily tidied and propagated. Give some away?

Another absolute thug to get rid of, if it likes your soil.

Many thanks. I will give some to neighbours if they want it.

You've obviously got it contained and though considered by many as a common plant and not appreciated, it makes a lovely show. To see a bank of them still looks stunning.

Yes I transferred it into a half barrel about 3 years ago and simply left it alone, it just grew and grew eventually it spread over the sides, just this year I decided to 'chop' it back as it started to look untidy, thinking maybe I had killed it off, but as you can see from the photo it has recovered well.

I don't consider myself a gardener by any means so I'm glad I joined on here and will no doubt be back on to pick more brains about other plants in my garden I don't know about.

Thanks again for all the replies.
