Anyone any idea what this is please? The first photo shows the yellow flowers at the top of about six foot stems (2nd photo) - sorry, but I couldn't fit it all in to one!

It like a Thalictrum. cant remember which one but it is a lovely plant.

Try Thalictrum flavum possibly glauca as it has bluish leaves.

Seaburngirl - yep, it tends to seed around but because it gets so tall, I try + keep it limited to that spot which is next to my RHS fence. [Funnily enough, one of the plants I'm about to order is Thalictrum aquilegiifolium, (that's the light-mauve version), for the other side of my 25' wide garden!]
