i have a bay window (north facing) that does not have any guttering. The rain drips off the 2 ends splashing up against the house walls.
I would like to put a planter at each to catch the water. what plants would be best suited? The Chilean Lantern trees look good. It wouldbe nice to have all year round plant

On plant Crinodendron hookerianum

I wouldn't recommend Crinodendron in a north facing area - whilst it likes some light shade, it does also like a bright spot preferably with some sun. I'd also suggest you'd be better off having a bit of guttering installed - if you have planters it's likely that, when it rains heavily, that rain will erode out quite a bit of soil from the planter - you will still have splashing up the walls, but now with compost in the splashes too. If you can provide large pots, Fatsia japonica might do, or Pieris, or Camellia

Try Abutilon - they don't mind shade - I have had one in a pot for 4 years now - I just keep raising the trllis and keep tying it up.

How do I say thanks?
