Does a trachelospermum need a trellis on the wall or is it self clinging?!

Not self clinging, it's a twiner, so needs a support to twine around.

It grows quite quickly once it gets established.
Take a look at one of my recent photos of Trachelospermum jasminoides ... leaves glowing under the snow....( 26 Dec. 09 )
You can see how nice it looks in winter, provided it is planted in a reasonably sheltered area.. :o) I hope this helps.

Can be a bit slow to start with - I wouldn't say its fast, more medium grower really. And Roxy, if you find one, take note of where it is in the garden centre - if its under shelter, then you need to keep it sheltered a bit for a week or so. If its out in the open, then it's fine and you can plant it now.
