Comfrey stalks

My 10 comfrey plants, set about 18 months ago, are now growing really well, but while the leaves are highly praised by all, no-one ever mentions the stalks.
Can there be utilised in any way or do I just chuck them in the green bin to be taken away. I hate wasting anything.
Some plants are now 2ft 6 tall. Should I use them now or will they grow any taller ?
My photos, I'm told usually arrive sideways, so I've added the photo on it's side, hoping it arrives properly. But what's the betting it'll arrive upside down ?

you can compost the stalks in your own bin. Not sure of what else you can do with them.

Comfrey makes a wonderful liquid fertilizer. It can also be used for mulching. Go to wikipedia for more info. I keep looking for comfrey plants where I live but the germans donĀ“t realy know about it...but I will keep on looking.
