Can anyone help to identify these plants and advise whether or not to cut off last years faded blooms and if so when? The first two are pictures of the same plant just coming into flower. The last one is of two very tall faded blooms on a very large specimen.

Probably Phormium, though I don't recognise the variety, cut off last year's flower stems.

Many thanks Bamboo. Do you thinks they are all Phormiums. The one in pic.3 is a giant of a plant compared with the others.

The one in pic 3 is definitely Phormium, probably a tenax variety, which is why it's so large. The other two I'm not so 100 percent convinced about, though there is Phormium cookanium and all its varieties, which are much shorter, so it might be one of those. Can't think what else they could be. Was the flower form the same on the smaller ones, a tall, skinny stem with not terribly impressive flowers on it?

Thanks Ladybug47 I will bear that in mind.

Bamboo - the flowers on the smaller ones haven't opened as yet, and this is the first time they have produced any, so I will have to wait and see what they look like. I will post a picture of them when they open.

How do I say thanks?
