I have an evergreen azalea but the leaves dropped during the winter. Now it appears woody and only has a few flowers. Can it be revived and how ?

Is it in a pot or in the ground?

In a pot

I thoiught it might be - when was the last time you repotted into something larger? If it was more than 2 years ago, turn it out of its pot and check to see if its rootbound - if so, pot on into something larger with fresh compost. Best to wait till all the flowers are gone though, and if the rootball has twining horizontal roots wrapped around, then gently untangle those before replanting.

Hi There, I have a few azaleas, some are evergreen all year round but I have two that go all woody, only keeping the flower on the very end of the stem, but every spring, suddenly a load of leaves grow. Catch it in winter and you'd think it was dying but every year it grows lovely green leaves and reminds you it is in fact healthy and happy. Hope this helps.
