Hi Folks, I have a small problem that I know you good people can help me with. I have a lawn (inherited) that has never enjoyed the best of health. It was neglected for several years. plenty of moss & clover. However I have worked on it to the best of my ability and got it looking a little respectable, emphasis on the words little & respectable.
It's 50ft x 20ft big enough for me. however I have noticed of late that the clover seems to be spreading, which in effect looks a lot more presentable than the moss. My question is is it okay to encourage the clover to spread and if it is how do I encourage it?

Let it set seed - those flowers contain lots of small black seeds that self seed. It is the opposite from what most people do - I rake the stuff off and stop it flowering.

I have a field I have tried to tame into being a garden, and from my experience, to encourage clover you do nothing. It takes a lawn mower very well, I need to mow every 2 weeks. But be prepared to yank out its runners as they try to take over the border areas (and they will).
