Hello, I purchased this plant a while ago and it's gradually looking more and more sad. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

The leaves were originally much bigger in size and shape.

this is one of the Calatheas - I can't decide which though, there's no apparent variegation of colour on the leaves.

General care for these is partial shade, and in particular, no direct sunlight. In winter, try to give it a bright spot, but not in sunlight. The compost should be kept moist, but not waterlogged, at all times, using soft, tepid water, and reducing water in the winter. They like high humidity, so misting the leaves frequently is useful, or a pebble tray filled with water that's larger than the pot rim. They do not like temperature changes or draughts much, and a minimum winter temperature of 60 deg F in winter is necessary.

Yours has probably not had enough water, and certainly not enough humidity - only you can know whether its suffered direct sunlight or not! You may need to move it elsewhere, trim off dead parts, improve your watering and start misting frequently to try to encourage healthy growth.

Looks like a Ctenanthe (one of the Calatheas as above). I would say that's a humidity (lack of) and water (lack of) issue

How do I say thanks?
