Paperwhite daffodils. I planted an indoor display of hyacinths and paper White daffs. Did the usual , keeping them cold and dark until a few inches of growth. The hyacinths flowered for Christmas but the daffs have a lot of high ( 2ft) foliage the flower buds are still tucked down and don't appear to be growing. The position has been quite light and warm hallway. I know that you aren't suppose to put any other flowers in with cut daffodils but does that apply to the bulbs aswell. If I cut down some of the foliage will that help the buds grow and flower?

Too late to do anything about it this year, but the tall foliage means that the plants haven't been getting enough light, no matter how bright the hall appears to human eyes. Also, if the paperwhite bulbs were kept too cold, that would have damaged the flower buds--they are Mediterranean in origin, and need no chilling.
