My 3 container grown camelias have failed to produce flower buds this year. Do you think they would do better if I planted them straight into the ground or repotted into larger pots? They are about 5/6 yers old. I kept them well watered last summer.

If you've had them for over 5 years it certainly sounds like you need to either pot up into larger containers or put them in the ground - they'll have run out of root room for sure by now.

They would certainly be happier in the ground as long as you are not on chalk in which case you will have to make sure they get a sequestrine feed at least once a year.

usually they produce their buds in the summer onwards. make sure you give them a feed too.
