Can anyone identify this plant/shrub?
It's leaves are arranged in threes, it has numerous fine prickles along the stems and it produces suckers. The flowers are white and insignificant. Is it worth keeping, has it any value to wildlife?

its a common bramble. insects enjoy the nectar birds will eat the brambles/blackberries and so can you. I am always digging them out but I do have some in the wilder area of the garden along with nettles etc.
so it is up to you and the type of garden you want.
welcome to G|oY too :o)

Thank you for your reply. I never recognised it as a bramble as it is compact and doesn't have long arching stems. I shall dig out all the suckers and just leave the original one and keep it compact. Thanks again.
