if the leaves are spikey try teasel, cant remember botanical name.

I thought at first it was silphium from google photos but looking again it has to be elecampane they are very similar to look at without being in flower i found a photo of a elecampane in bud like the original photoi took and it wins the day. But now ive seen silphium i think i may track down the seeds i just hope its not too much of a weed! its invasive in the u.s.a
