This Spring I planted a Salvia Amistad. It must like its site as it is now about 6ft by 6ft and still in full bloom and its lower stems are 3/4 inch thick .How do I approach the pruning next Spring? As its a fairly new plant the web literature is a bit confusing.yours sincerely,Idris.

Don't cut it now as winter approaches - according to the RHS, pruning isn't necessary other than trimming off dead bits and spent flowers. Height up to 1.2 metres

How lucky. We bought this and what is left of it is now all of 2 inches tall and wide. The molluscs here adore it.

Ha ha, well it removes the dilemma as to whether to prune or not....

Thought I'd lost mine but noticed the other day it's about three inches tall.
