I would like to transfer this zinnia to my front border; would it work? It's about 10 inches tall. How/when is the best approach if it can be done? I grew it from seed. Thanks

Why? Looks ok where it is & it is an annual, will only last this year. It might not like being moved & it would be a pity to lose it, when you are attached to it.

It would get more exposure & more people would enjoy it in the front of the house, rather then the back. My gardener keeps chopping up my seedlings whenever I sow new seeds. He thinks he's doing me a favor. This one he missed.

I would leave it where it is. It's too advanced to move and Zinnias have being moved. Best to sow in situ next time.

You win, it stays! lol I'll sow new seeds and if my gardener goes near them, I'm going to %&#@(&*^%#$!#

the only way to move it would be to lift it with a good 3-4 inches of soil all around it to minimise root disturbance. then obviously water well.
