Anyone grown blackberry Black Satin?

I was surprised to see plants in Poundland already, so I had a punt and bought myself a blackberry Black Satin as I fancied growing another cultivar. It has a well rooted stem with some healthy new shoots.

In the past apart from roses which Poundland excels in, fruit plants I'd bought there usually died or grew sickly. Overall I've had about 50% success with these cheap plants, but you can get a good one now and again. My older purchase of gooseberry Hinnonmaki Red from Wilkos over ten years ago is still going strong!

Hopefully this Black Satin thrives and being thornless is always a bonus. Has anyone grown blackberry Black Satin and had success with it in the garden?

My daughter in Somerset has Blackberry 'Black Satin'. It is a good fruiter and the huge berries are very sweet and juicy. It does need tying in as the stems get very long, up to 15' +. We put in eyes with wires to support it.

Excellent! I wondered whether its fruit was sweet or not, because a lot of reviews said its blackberries have a very tart acid flavour to them. I bought it mainly because they say it has pretty pink flowers in spring and it ripens from late July. I grow Navaho Summerlong and that is a compact upright grower with striking white flowers, so now I have a nice contrast. Thanks very much for your reply and advice.
