This is a standard Salix integra. can any one tell me what the green growth on the branches is , and how do i get rid of it? thanks now for any answers

Lichen growing on the branches is totally harmless. The result of clean air. You can just rub off with your fingers if you wish.

yes it is one of the lichens and harmless to the tree. As Jimmy says its a sign of clean air. I have it on many shrubs and I just leave it alone. Some lichens are really pretty.
